One day in Berlin
Unfortunately we only had one day in Berlin. Fortunately, there are lots of things to see within walking distance.
Here’s a list of what we saw/did:
Berlinerdom – Very impressive cathedral both on the outside and inside. Destroyed during the world war two, it has been restored and there are continuous renovations to this beautiful cathedral. Entrance fee for students is 5 euro. You can climb the stairs all the way to the top of the roof and have a 360 panorama view of the city. The informational videos were interesting and well made!
Museum Island – comprises of 5 museums. We had a chance to visit the art gallery, new museum and old museum. You can purchase a museum island pass which is valid for one day (9 euro) or 3 day museums in Berlin pass (12 euro). These are student prices.
Ritter Sport ChocoWorld- make your own chocolate bar or icecream or simply buy lots of chocolate. Need we say any more?
Parliment
Brandenburg gate
Holocaust memorial – out of respect we did not take any pictures. The experience was deeply moving and highly recommend to anyone for a deeper and more personal understanding to the lives and suffering of all Jews during the second world war.
